AMD, They went from Continuously Variable Transmission to Continuously Variable Engine. 😝
Your reviews are always very in -depth and done with such a great deal of mechanical knowledge. Awesome Job
Please, start the cars to see vibration and the sound that makes
Nissan has a business model called contiously variable spending. You could spend a little or a lot to keep it on the road. It used to be called reliability issues.
18:47 in long night trip that low light gonna look good
An interesting anecdote to the driveshaft… more than a decade ago I fell in love with a rather maintenance intensive Jaguar XJ 12. Once I replaced the center support bracket of the driveshaft and some exhaust pipe and muffler work. Put it back together absolutely straight and experienced some resonance vibrations around 90-120 km/h under minimal load….. that drove me nuts and after checking everything again I found out it was the driveshaft center bearing that had to be mounted in a slight angle ( according to the old mounting marks ) probably to have a minimum constant side load and therefore avoid subtle movements from one side to the other during changing loads when you lift the throttle
nice review! Hope you get your hands on one of the new Tiguans soon.
@21:03 That's what i said - they finally get rid of the JATCO CVT and put in a good transmission - BUT THEN THEY TAKE AWAY A RELIABLE V6 AND PUT IN A CRAPPY 4 POPPER! It's like they just cant help themselves to get better!
Test drove it. SL trim aurora blue. Wife absolutely loved it. Tried to make a deal with local Nissan but wouldnt budge as much as I wanted to. Next day called some dealers within 300 mile radius and bought it. MSRP 49140 - dealer took almost 8 grand off + 1000 rebate. Final sales price 40200 + 700 doc fee + 300 in other fees + 3900 taxes 500 delivery fee - 300 miles away. Everything 45000 out the door and delivered SL trim in Aurora Blue. Wish they did a Hybrid but you cant touch a mid size 2 row for under 50k except a crown signia and wife didt like as it was too low like a car. Special shout out to Tomi who runs a car buying service called Delivred for showing people how to negotiate. He is here on YT and a fun watch as he calls dealers live.
Everyone I know with a Murano LOVES their Murano.
I've seen about a dozen reviews on the new Murano, and no one has mentioned anything about excessive engine vibration
That little hood over screen keeps out the glare NICE
Your reviews are ALWAYS fantastic. I would never buy this vehicle but if I did the vibrations would drive me insane. They have always been my pet peeves in any vehicle I have owned and if they are present before you even put miles on it people will most definitely appreciate you making them aware of that. What a shame in an otherwise nice car.
Vibrating seats not needed with an engine that vibrates so much.
We pulled the trigger and bought the 2024 model with the V6. The CVT seems fine and will keep it maintained and just change the fluids.
Good to see you AMD. ❤
A variable compression engine + Renault electronics will make this new Murano a rental choice again.
I was all keen on this new Murano when I heard they were ditching the CVT in favor of the 9 speed transmission. Then they went and screwed around with the engine taking out a very good VQ35 engine and putting in its place..... JUNK!
I've always liked the Murano but never had one because of that CVT. When I heard the new one wouldn't have it anymore I thought it might finally be time to get one, but now this engine. Why couldn't they put the Frontier's V6 in it?? I swear, it seems like Nissan always has to do ONE thing to shoot themselves in the foot. 🤦♂️
