This video of a grown man trying to fix a bunch of cables and wires in his room has become a treasured piece of Internet history
Ironically one of the most entertaining episodes contains almost no gameplay
For whatever reason, this is still one of my favorite episodes, if not THE favorite episode. I generally prefer the episodes where he talks about hardware instead of just games, maybe because he always has something fascinating to tell about said hardware, like it's history, technical aspects, stuff like that. I love it, it's like Gaming Historian with more swearing.
The physical comedy of this episode made me forget that it's supposed to be about the Atari 5200. I don't even care, this is one of the best AVGN episodes
Man. It's pretty amazing how much these old videos hold up. Even with how much Youtube has changed old avgn videos are still entertaining.
This might be the most realistic episode the Nerd has ever made. You feel the frustration that he feels because we’ve all put up with the bullshit of swapping cables
a part of me kinda likes the lower camera quality and resolution on James' videos, gives that retro vibe
AVGN busting out the 200ft extension cord to bridge the 1.5-inch gap will always be his funniest moment.
These updated Thumbnails have been throwing me off, makes me think im finding a bunch of AVGN videos I've never seen
This is YouTube. This is what you immediately think of whenever you hear the term. It's the Angry Video Game Nerd, and his reviews define the word "classic". Even though they are so simple by today's standards and the editing so primitive, they have a charm that will never be matched. The obsceneties spewed forth barely make any sense, but that's the whole beauty of it: he's just vocalizing our old frustrations with these games. The theme song? Just awesome. And the sparse setting just enhances the mood.
Hey Nerd! Make sure to review this in the year 5200!
This video has more views than Atari 5200 sales
“strongest man in the world deadlifted 1500 lbs” nerd picks up million ton ac adaptor like nothing
I think this episode has the funniest line from any of James' work in it. "But it's an ungodly abomination that begs for apocalypse."
What’s crazy is that this episode was made so long ago, that the vintage TV could still be used to watch over-the-air stations with no converter box needed.
Reasons why it failed 1. Broken Controllers 2. the library was mostly 2600 games with better graphics, there was nothing really new 3. Over saturated market
Interesting Tidbit: The person who throws the package at the Nerd, is the Nerd himself from the future.
Luv these old avgn eps 2020 still doesn't get old
5:48 Imagine the trouble just to reorganize his room after recording this. This guy really sacrificed himself to entertain us.
