a good source of growing meat and having eggs. they are small enough for me, an older lady, to handle myself, and they don't need a lot of room. another plus is the rooster does not crow so loud as the chicken rooster.

@KellyBell1

We LOVE the flavor of the quail meat. Our experience in eating quail was several years ago (we lived in town then). We bought a box of 12 frozen quail at H‑E‑B and grilled them. We all sat around the table amazed at the delicious flavor without any seasoning or marinade or anything. Years later,..here we are in the country and adding quail to our little farm. A&M XXL’s and a few Chinese Painted Quail(adorable)just for my personal pets.
I bought an incubator and hatched all mine myself. Hatch Day is like Christmas EVERY TIME. Thank You for your informative video!!

9:47 That is genius! I hadn’t even considered this option till now and it’s the answer to my current “problem” of where I’m going to put them. Thanks you so much for this detailed video! ❤

When it comes to the noises they make, if they can be heard at all they could be mistaken for some uppity or annoying squirrels if the person hearing them is not knowledgeable about Quails. And even then they're hardly as uniquely jarring as a rooster crow or even a chicken bawk so it never sounds out of place even amongst all the "Nature" sounds we've heard for years where we are.

One of the things I also love about Quail is just how incapable of hurting you they are. They will never attempt to attack you, and even the most depserate struggle to get out of your grip gets barely more than the top layer of skin scratched, if you are unlucky. They are astonishingly timid and weak little birds, not even counting when comparing to chicken which can be vicious and quite painful if handled incorrectly.

@BlackCat_2

🐦interesting. I am seriously considering getting some quail for the eggs. I hope they still lay after 2 years. Even if it is not as often that is fine as I plan to have several females. Heidi
