@Joshua_N-A

Backwards compatibility should be a standard feature on consoles.

@fathermukerlol

It’s the PlayStation 3 first edition. It was so powerful and it had so much potential but developers never took advantage of it and it was way more expensive than the Xbox. PlayStation had to adapt because they were losing s big chunk of their market share and in order to lower the cost, they also took out usb ports and a hardware downgrade in general.

@MR.__G

PlayStation really messed up by not allowing the systems after this to have backwards compatibility through all generations.

@VotexSin

my biggest regret in life is selling this console and a bunch of obscure games

update: i found this console in the attic!

@mangey_tangey

That sounds like the DKOldies guy

@ThePlasticBowl

The PS3 fat, my favorite console such great memories. Free online, 4 usb ports, sd card reader, full backwards compatibility, the best customizable home UI of any PlayStation ever, and that piano black with chrome accents was just slick looking.

@MysticalHeartless

Still own mine! Got it the day of its release. Had to wait in line for it. The Piano Black PS3 with its Satin Silver Controller! To this day, I still consider this the most sleek design made by Sony.

It ain't collecting dust either. I have my PS1, PS2 and PS3 consoles hooked up and connected in my "Nostalgia Gameroom" I keep them well maintained, and play on them at least once a week.

Play some Spyro & Crash on the PS1, swap over to DMC3, Kingdom Hearts and Ninja Gaiden on the PS2, look over screenshots of PS-Home, and play Borderlands and GTA on the ps3.

I love my life

@ZachFramedFigures

I had that one! Got it right before my mom passed away sadly. It got me through it!

@TheRealJAYDOSS

I remember this goat. I’m still grieving the loss of it

@diegokasady

People don’t know the feeling of powering this up in 2006 and can already play so many games

@jonathanlopez2650

I remember when ps3 launched. I was so happy with the backwards compatibility. 2 years later, my brother jacked me and sold mine.. I saved up and bought another in 2009. I was excited to get back to action. I was like wtf! Cause the backwards compatibility and the micro sd slot were gone :(

@csimw2330

Picked one up recently for cheap. Still works great. She’s my pride and joy

@jeebuzz1168

PS3: games don't need to look real, they just need to be fun.

@DXRKSYDEX

My dad brought one in 2008 with Mortal kombat 2 on it he was a kind and loving mentor, and best friend serious gamer Rest in heaven Dad 🙏

@MrJjburgess11

I still have mine . The 60 gig version. Bought it in may of 2007. Still works good too.

@PixeIWorks

Have and still play! :D

@hanislip

Checha and cheche are the go to

@Lord_Dom8141

I paid $600 for it just to get the yellow light

@ProxyPlays999

I had that PS3 for years when I was younger but then we sold it, I’ll never forget the joy it brought me when I played the Infamous games, Uncharted games and the older Call of Duty games, I’ve always thought it was the base model for the PS3

@jaredraymond7154

Yes i have it still ! My dad drove all around town for 3days in December 2006 , calling everyday store possible and on multiple occasions getting to the store and realizing someone had just bought the last one AGAIN , and keep it mind my spoiled ass specifically asked for this one so it made the search that much harder , but because my dad is mr.christmas he ended up finding it i believe on the 23rd. The total was around $900(insane). He wrapped it up and when i opened it we borh literally cried together, absolutely one of my best memories. And on top of all that because wifi wasnt out yet he drilled a 3 foot hole in the wall between my room and the office so we could run a 10ft ethernet cabel to be able to play online. I will never forget that or his effort 👌 💪 thanks dad 👨‍👩‍👧 ❤
