@Barakon

I find what they did actually not terrible.

It’s just that the show is messy, but the cameo was still fun enough to shine.

He’s literally the best character in the show, & has the most completed arch.

Bullfrog is a very close second though.

@Cat_OS_1

Honestly, I’ve seen the anime and seeing rayman go from a innocent talk show host to a mass murderer because of his rejection from the reviews on his outburst from his show is kind of like how Ubisoft decided to reject rayman and replace their games and his career with slight cameos in games rather than being in the entire game

@bigimp3018

Rayman is more than just a social outcast in the show if you actually bothered to watch it

@nokia5959

you do know rayman was one of the most influential characters in the entire laserhawk show right?

@ArrivalRemainsMemorable

Rayman does appear in the game Brawlhalla. Though underrated, it shows many references of his original games and is a cool addition to Brawlhalla.

@its_apt

If Rayman's lost to time with the appearances he recently got, Banjo-Kazooie have no recorded evidence of ever existing

@katana7king

Couldn't agree more, Legends is an incredible game that I would immediately recommend to anyone looking for great platformers. Hopefully these little public appearances are just a way to keep his image alive in modern audiences for a revival. I'd kill for a third Origin's style Rayman. Great video by the way, your voice does comes off muffled in the audio though. Not sure if that's the recording software or the setup?

Regardless, not sure how the algorithm got me here but glad it did. Looking forward to seeing more

@hecklejack7726

Given the current state triple A gaming companies. I feel like not getting a new Rayman is probably for the best.

@elliotdavison8892

I hope if they make another poker night at the inventory, Rayman is a feature character. I feel he would work so well in a game like that

@icu-3701

Tbh I like the direction they β€œSEEM” to be taking rayman IF there will be a new game abt eating off cowgirls

@skootergirl22

My sister and I had rayman 1, both gold and the PS1 port

@dredenhadley1723

this was one of the first games i played on my wii u and i loved it so much. im still really young and havent played many games but i can say that this game is one of the few best games ive played, it was simple yet hard and really sparked my love for games in genral

@TGVBT640

he really does deserve better

@ommanomnom

Rayman 2 was the first game I ever completed in my life. Back when I was a small kid. Absolutely fantastic game.

@Vexcenot

I keep forgetting the dude's not in smash but steve is

@Toadallythebest

Just make him sing "sexbomb" Ubisoft, you had one job

@supertornado3190

Like I say, never give up hope I kind of feel like they want to bring this character back. They just don’t know what to do yet and I hope our prayers are answered that Rayman comes back. I hope you all have a merry Christmas and God bless you all. Thanks for the video.

@MagicianRabbidSupremacy364

As a Rabbids fan myself you are correct Rayman deserves better, I loved his appearence in Mario + Rabbids and the entire DLC feels like it was made by people who appreciate the character. Captain Laserhawk ironically has one of my favorite versions of the character as his character arc in the first season was done surprisingly well and helped with the main plot. That being said I really hope this is a Crash Bandicoot situation where this leads up to a new game or remakes of the old ones cause Rayman as a franchise deserves every piece of love it gets. If there was a team at Ubisoft who could make a new Rayman it would definitely be the Mario + Rabbids team as not only did they make two great games with Kingdom Battle and Sparks of Hope, but like I said before their work on the DLC shows how much they care about the franchise where main Ubisoft doesn't. Plus the creator of Mario + Rabbids has said he would love to make a new Rayman game. Idk why this comment is so long guess I just like talking about the only two Ubisoft franchises I care about.

@absolutezerochill2700

I feel like some of your anger is misplaced. The rayman in the show is not THE Rayman, granted.
It's some alternate reality stuff where all Ubisoft properties are real but not in the same way at all? Complicated.

Anyways it is a fine show though i still, personally, don't really know why Rayman is in it. I mean, I KNOW why, because they had all the Ubisoft properties and wanted all the characters. I know the writer really wanted it and apparently already had a plotline for him, but... still. It really could have been literally any other new character in the plotline. Why a pre existing one? It's not even like the Assassins' Creed frog Bullfrog, who is an assassins yes, but he's also a NEW CHARACTER. While they just took Rayman's most basic character traits and morphed him.

Some people are telling me the show is a parody of how Ubisoft treats their properties essentially. Which... i suppose it could be taken that way , but it doesn't really come off as very compelling to me, you know? Not enough bite.
Like, Rayman gets replaced by his company at some point. Which you'd think, would be used to represent Ubisoft's abandonment of Rayman and his game. But instead of replacing him with an Assassin's Creed or Far Cry Character (or if they really wanted to send the point home, a white rabbit) they replace him with a guy who looks and sounds exactly like him. Then he goes off and kills the villain's of Assassin's creed (with dual submachineguns) to save Bullfrog the assassin. (He also wears sleeves in his part but that's just semantic) Again, a parallel could have been made to actually make the Eden more like actual Ubisoft. But uh...nah? They're just the villains of Assassin's Creed. They don't really have supreme control over all the different franchises with universal powers or something , they're just business guys. I mean they technically have control over some stuff because they own this huge company which is also the united states btw (Captain Laserhawk is weird) but yeah, just... guys. The critique of Ubisoft is actually only surface deep.
The real purpose of Rayman's story is of a corporation using a minorities image to commit crimes and injustices against his group of people, which is interesting.... but also could have been told with any other characters, and isn't a critique of Ubisoft. He doesn't even look like the other hybrids, he's some other alien.
And as an aside, others have pointed out... it is quite strange that videos of Rayman in this show may get millions of views, Bullfrog vids get hundreds of thousands, and yet in these sections, I've seen no one who isn't a big fan of the show has ever talked about the main character. And a handful talk about Dolph. Like they weren't interested in the main story and just wanted to see Rayman (bc it's rayman) and Bullfrog (who's an assassin and actual cool character).
This theory is confirmed by the fact that the official Netflix videos of the show don't even break 50-100k views. It's so strange.

Anyways thank you for talking to my ted talk, and also he wasn't as bad in Kingdom Battle Rabbids, but that might just stockholm syndrome.

(ALSO ALSO edit: He doesn't sound anything like does in Sexbomb, which is real voice according to the animators and devs.)
(and sorry for typing a 500 word essay)
