@rainyfriday6175

Reminds me of the joke about the two new pilots complaining about the shortest runway they’ve ever landed on, but then one remarked about how wide it was.

@dragoss2736

I am Senior Engineer working in Contruction field, you people have no idea how TRUE this is. In my professional experience, I have encountered 2 similar cases (different constructions), I explained the drawings to them, I asked them if they understood, their answer was "YES" . . . Lucky that I came for the checks when the works were still at the beginning, otherwise I would have ended up like the engineer in this videoclip. It is important to READ the engineering drawings, but also VERY important to understand them.

@davidkleemann4897

Having served two decades in the Army, you people have no idea how true this is.

@BenotmaneMohamed-kb5oe

I was a bit upset! They just made my day! Thanks you to who ever posted it.

@simonborn5521

Project lead only checking on progress when project is finished is pretty on point too.

@stevecarlisle7341

My British father used to work at Lawrence Livermore National Labs 80s / 90s. Drawing office worked in metric, shopfloor in imperial. A few notable Spinal Tap Stonehenge moments.

@ChristianAdkison

Their boss probably fired the guy who questioned the plans because he wasn't digging fast enough 🤣

Goes to show most supervisor don't show up until the job is done to reap the rewards

@fistlah6895

I'm relieved that he didn't view it horizontally and built a concrete missile head😂😂😂

@lenardcohen

True story, My wife's fork lift company, had a meeting to discuss changing the masts for a big order, All the top management were looking at the drawing, Not understanding at all. The service manager, a former fitter, looked over with a cigarette in the corner of his mouth, Turned the drawing around, and it became obvious, The writing was the wrong way up, compared to the drawing, I swear as true as I can remember

@nawwk79

British humour is the best. 🤣🤣

@NestenRealty

😅..As an Architect..i'll blame the supervisor for not being on site the whole time!...Nothing ever goes as planned unless its supervised to the letter. He should already know this!

@lacudafrost

If you think actual contractors couldn't screw up this badly, just this last year in Calgary, work crews built a road on fhe wrong side of a highway. Stuff like this is what happens when you don't learn to question your boss.

@jacquelinebraze7630

This happened to my Grandfather.
The first Cellinese Plant in US was installed in a block-sized building in Cumberland, MD, early 1940's. A crew of degreed engineers tasked with the installation couldn't understand why it wouldn't start/run.
  Finally they called in my Grandfather, a local, self-trained engineer with no degrees.
  He starred at the table of blueprints for some tense mintues, in complete silence. The "Degrees" stood by sceptical. Grandpa stood back, turned the prints 180⁰ and declared, "You've put it in upside-down, boys. Then walked away.
  A few weeks later after correcting the problem, it started right up like a dream. Ran fine it's entire productive life.
  Oh, and Coal Tipples my Grandpa designed and built in PA, MD, WV well over 100 years are still in service and hummin' away today!.
Grandpa built 'em to last! RIP Grandpa 💙.
