マイフェアレディの原作はバーナード・ショーの「ピグマリオン」で、 ヒロインのイライザのモデルはラファエル前派の画家達のモデルになったジェーン・バーデン。彼女の生まれは貧かったが芸術の才能も語学能力もあり、瞬く間に上流階級を駆け上がりウィリアム・モリスと結婚した。このジェーンをモデルにした作品はロセッティの「プロセルピナ」等があります。

初めて聴きました。映画のマーニーニクソンとは確かに異なるけど、どちらも好き。当時の舞台を見ていないので、ジュリーアンドリュースの声はサウンドオブミュージックのイメージが出てきてしまうので、マーニーニクソンの歌の方が映画のオードリーとの相性も良くしっくりきます。
