Pirating in my 20s, streaming in my 30s, and now back to pirating in my 40s. Life is weird.
For as long as these companies see me as a cow to milk, I will continue to see them as a sea to sail. đ´ââ ď¸đ´ââ ď¸đ´ââ ď¸
Turns out, I WOULD download a car.
As a teenager I pirated, because I had no income of my own. As an adult I pirate, because they don't deserve my money.
Piracy is going to sky rocket if they keep pushing ads on a paid service.
âYou wouldnât steal a car.â No, because a car is owned. Apparently we donât own the movies we buy, so they arenât being stolen.
âPiracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem.â -Gabe Newell
Putting ads in the middle of a movie or something, about the platform that you are already paying to use but now you could pay more to stop these ads. That made me go to piracy.
Reminds me of Fairy Odd Parents: "In the future they'll be 1000s of channels, but there'll be nothing to watch..."
Piracy is such a strong word, letâs just call it file sharing
"YOU WILL OWN NOTHING AND BE HAPPY" - Dystopia
If Netflix stopped funding 1,487,632,875 projects every 3 months that nobody has ever heard of, maybe they wouldn't need to keep jacking prices up.
For example a Netflix subscription costs me 3 days of work in my country. It is crazy expensive for me
Gen Z didnât decide they didnât want to own anything, they were told they wouldnât âŚ
Ubisoft once said âGet used to not owning a gameâ. All I say is âYarrrrr!â
It's like the grocery store stopped selling food and now I have to go to each individual farmer for the things I want
Car companies: "You wouldn't download a car" Literally the same car companies today: "You have to download a new firmware for your car"
"you wouldn't steal a car" well yeah i won't but if there was a button which when pressed can generate an exact copy of the car that i am looking at and i can own that copy then yeah i will definitely do it
You see, here in Switzerland we donât pirate illegally. We pirate it legally (yes piracy is legal in Switzerland)
