My son and I were just driving back from a doctor’s appointment and this song came on. We both stared singing at the top of our lungs. He’ll be 25 next month. We always sing in the car, but this was instantaneous, just feeling it from the heart. Good times. ❤

Nostalgia hits you different ways at different ages. In your 20's and 30's it hurts, partly because the old friends and times from school are so close but you realize they are slipping out of your fingers. In your 40's you may try to stay in touch more and then feel the disappointment as its just not the same-- and the only way to keep the old friends is to have them as if they were new, involved in your life NOW and common interests and time together NOW. By 50, aside from a close few friends I've held on to, its more like the song's lyrics: "hard to say it, time to say it, goodbye." I try to be thankful for the good times and good friends long gone. I have to keep enjoying what i have today and making new memories and friends to be nostalgic about in my 70's and 80's...

damn, this song really gets put into another perspective as you grow up. it's always good to have great memories from when you were living in the moment and having the time of your life, but remember to never stop doing so.
