Nobody has gotten rid of the old version. It is a fine version. You can always listen to it. This is another work in itself, so try to appreciate it for what it IS, and not for what it ISN'T. Kate took her old work, and made something new. She didn't necessarily make improvements; she may not have been trying to. Just because she's doing the song again, doesn't mean she finds fault with the original. Think of it as a new song entirely, after all there's 22 years between.
