That artwork with Asha and the goat at the tree could have been a perfect scene to let her philosophize about life, wishes and the dad whom is not present.

@One_Flew_West

I've only seen purely negative takes on this film, so it's interesting to see a balanced review of it. Thank you, your channel is so much fun!

@DidrickNamtvedt

I saw Wish today and really enjoyed it. I had heard of the bad critisim it had gotten, though I haven't read specifically what most of those critics said so I went into the movie with an open mind. And I do agree that some of the lyrics are a bit too corny and cringeworthy, but "This Wish" is a fantastic song (and the reprise gave me goosebumps), and "At All Costs" is really good as well. And the animation is gorgeous so this movie definitely has stuff going for it, although it also has its flaws. But I left the movie theater having had a very positive experience and it's absolutely a movie worth watching if you ask me.

@MiguelsBiggestFan1

Disney will NOT be dodging the AI songwriting allegations after lines like “I let you live here for free without even charging rent” for their main villains songs 💀

@ThePrincessCH

I thought it was fine, but it seemed to have this strange lack of cohesion. Then again, Disney gets parodied a lot for being too perfect, so this could be them course correcting. Though personally, I don't have a problem with cookie-cutter films but I imagine that it's not profitable anymore.

@jelenap8

The song lyrics killed me 😂 I’m open to giving it a chance

@lauriesawyer2615

I am not sure why this movie got so many bad reviews. I loved it! My adult daughter loved it. All the kids in the theatre loved it. In fact a child sitting next to me, said, Oh no, it's over already?

@GabrielMunueraVinals

Another great video. Thanks Miguel!! Must admit I have not seen “Wish” yet, but feeling a bit sad Disney has not managed to make a classic on its 100th anniversary 😢

@KacieSapotalo

Kinda interesting how 3D Princesses like Rapunzel, Moana, Mirabel and Raya had much more character depth and development than the main Character in Wish. The 4 that I just mention is that they had goals and needs in life and during the entire course of their individual films they had some obstacles, challenges and had incredible tenacity along the way and overall they had a great transformation at the end of their respected films for the better. Asha however we didn't get that much development and in the entire film she wants to get what she wants and then she literally get what she wants during the entire course of her film so we didn't see that much transformation from her. She is basically a one-note and thinly-written character unfortunately. Don't get me wrong the voice actors did a great job on their work for this film but overall the Characters were a bit underdeveloped and its almost like a first draft.

@BG-be8di

For me, Wish wasn't bad and it had more potential to could to be better, I liked you didn't give it so much bad criticism, there are things to rescue: The animation was beautiful and I would have liked them to return to the 2D and classic style typical of Disney animation. Also my fav songs became: This Wish, I'm a star and the one with the credits. The plot about wishes was interesting, but the one that everyone deserves to have their wishes, the theme was painted very rosy, I thought Asha would be a protagonist who wanted to do something good for everyone, but she made a mistake and was going to fix it, about the villain I don't know what to say: I thought that would be about Asha was wrong and some wishes reaelly were bad and she should not have released them all, Chaos would break out when most wishes were granted (although surely only for evil and greedy desires). But the King was not right either about keeping most of the wishes inside and not granting them, but Asha decides yes repair what she started. And Asha's personality was to make it deeper. I thought that the time that Asha would spend as the King's apprentice would be longer but he barely interviewed her, she only spent one day as an apprentice and then she disagreed with the king's acting, he fired her, I hoped that he would surely share with her too his knowledge of magic and his magical laboratory. And not all comedy moments felt very pleasurable. About the end I'm glad that everyone managed to recover and remember their wishes, keeping them back in their heart, I didn't know what to expect at the end, I felt a thrill when Asha became the first fairy godmother (apart from the others created by Disney).That was my theory and I had high hopes but it wasn't that bad, I won't deny it filled my soul with nostalgia, especially when Sabino, Asha's grandfather, composed "When you wish upon a star" (at the same time that he, with his age, represented the 100 years of the Disney studio)

@M_JackOfAllTrades

It wasn't perfect. It could have been improved. But so are many other Disney movies, even the old and beloved classics. And I still really, really enjoyed Wish. None of the negative aspects ruined this movie for me, and there were lots of things I liked and appreciated about it too. I'm really sad that it's getting so much negativity and extremely harsh criticism. Personally I liked it more than most recent Disney movies including the extremely successful Frozen 2.

@marcuscarana9240

I loved wish, animation was beautiful, Asha was more real and likeable than how she was portrayed in the trailer, and the songs and choreography are great which is where a musical should always succeed in, and overall it was fun, enjoyable and entertaining. Still a solid film.

@hharden4969

I really think Wish could have been SO MUCH MORE than what came out at the end result and the reason why there’s so much backlash is because they really don’t get why people needed this to be a true homage to everything that makes Disney a company worth fighting for. I didn’t enjoy this film because of that reason, yeah in some aspects it was at best just okay but for this to be advertised as something to look forward to for the 100th anniversary, they really needed to go back to their original plan initially (if you’ve ever looked into it I highly recommend tbh it’s just such a shame that they missed on using their original concept for the first draft of this story) and instead consider what this company means as a whole FOR EVERYONE instead of telling their fanbase what it means while trying to make another buck to get by.

I’m sorry, I know this movie has a group growing for it, but it’s not gonna win me over with its lackluster storytelling and musical ability. It’s clear that current Modern Disney is not giving the care of its animated films that it needs, and until something changes in the near future, I’m just not gonna follow it, I’ll just keep up with independent/foreign animation until then, but here’s hoping🤞🏻

@ItzTheLoser

ONLY 210 SUBSCRIBERS WHAT, underrated bro

@SuPeRNinJaRed

What I feel like Disney has lost (as far as story goes) is the “adventure part”... this sounds random but I felt this problem actually started in Brave and continued through Frozen 2. The plot drags because there isn’t that grand (though it doesn’t have to be) adventure where the main character can really fulfill their arc, which unfortunately lacking this element makes it feel shortchanged and not fleshed out/ even hallow honestly, a great example (albeit a bit strange) would be comparing Wish with Stardust (I know that’s random but) both have a Star that comes to life as a main plot line. That great adventure adds so much to the characters development and gets you emotional invested because you directly go on this journey with the characters so you are in a way a part of their story too!

@29AndreG

I gotta disagree with you on the villain song. I didn’t feel like it was A.I. generated. I just assumed that it was because the villain had a big ego complex it kinda worked.

@dinahbird7473

You my good friend are restoring faith in humanity

@crashban4t.f.s.b783

They should have made a movie that has a similar style to Walt Disney but, is modernized in a way that makes it look beautiful.

@Lon1349

I watched Wish my wife. She is a huge Disney fan and was disappointed on the quality it lacked. Poor character development and the story wasn’t compelling. To me as you mention it was okay but lacked a lot of Disney magic and development. The artwork is amazing, I have nothing against the design or elements behind the animation. It is interesting you brought up the music score. I will say I can agree that the score wasn’t impressive because I have to think about it. Hahaha. It isn’t anything like Fantasia… haha. Music everywhere. I will include that Wish was an easter egg hunt movie. People wanted to find all of the past Disney similarities. It was a poor marketing film to say that Wish can stand on its own. I think your 6.5 is still generous. I would have given it a 5.5 or 6 (generous). Thank You for your content!

@timemachinegeek

Loved Wish so, so much. This is my Treasure Planet, my Atlantis: The Lost Empire, my The Black Cauldron. I will defend this movie ‘til the day I die!
