Next video: I installed Rust on CPU cache
15 minutes in, i remembered i don't have rust
I'm watching this video for the third time already, my FPS has increased by 69% and my boyfriend came back to me! Thank you, Woodcocker!
If this is only a taste of whats coming. Then I m really looking forward your full guide. You just saved me a lot of time, because I have been trying to do all this stuff but there was no guide like this. You are absolute god :)
Out of all the videos ive seen online talking about crazy boosts, I'm glad to see someone actually testing these and bringing results. Thank you.
FINALLY SOMEONE THAT UNDERSTOOD THE SETTINGS WONT CHANGE FPS. I THOUGHT I WAS LOOSING MY MIND
Let me add some more. Disable IOMMU (When enabled this add an extra cpu cycle for (direct) memory access) Disable Memory integrity (Increases your memory latency, can help with stutter and frame pacing) Disable SVM (amd) (It might not provide any benefit for modern hardware, give it a try) Disable VMP (Just like above, might not provide any benefit on some systems) Hardware-enforced Stack Protection (Used to have impact, maybe not anymore) Disclaimer: Memory integrity and Stack protection are important security features that you probably should leave it on. disabling SVM, VMP will cause issues if you are using virtualization (docker, virtual machines etc) Messing with your ram timings/freq by blindly applying AI generated recomendation is a bad idea. If you are on AMD, increasing your ram frequency can cause your memory front side buffer to run async (leading to worse performance) Instead enable Expo (XMP on intel) and stop there if you dont know what you are doing.
20 minutes in...i remembered I don't have rust... Heck I don't even have a pc
Please keep up with this kind of rust optimization videos. I love it so much
If you want to have your 12th generation or newer processer to only use p-cores use process lasso. It's super simple and works. I haven't purchased the patreon but I'm guessing this is how he does it.
The top of top tier testing you don't see often. Good stuff I'm subbing. Try to do odd stuff with minecraft server testing with mods in different configs. There is like NOTHING about that
really enjoy the more defined data analysis approach, not enough rust creators are actually interesteed in the nitty gritty details. well done mate
Another thing people don’t think about normally is the data channels on the motherboard itself. If a motherboard is your bottle neck then no amount of upgrades to memory or settings will change anything past a certain point.
Amazing work man! Did not expect this much time, effort and technical depth on a video game optimization vid at all
10:49 this is awesome to know I bought 64gigs ddr5 ram and thought it was a waste because it not like a graphics designer or something but this is an insane boost and it’s that easy to move it to ram??? I have to look into how to do that. Every time I want to run rust just move it to ram and load it up
Thanks for your passion to finally settle it once and for all.
i had rust installed on an external hdd and it took around 30 to 45 minutes to open the game, please use an ssd.
-Not all CPUs are equal, even for the same model, they are only guarantied to handle RAM at the minimum speed specified by the manifacturer. RAM usually doesn't run by default at it's advertised speed because they often require an overclock of your CPU (XMP...) and you might have been unlucky and got a copy that can handle said speed (what we refer as silicon lottery) -Some of the new AMD CPUs have 3d-vcache (the X3Ds) giving a boost for gaming, but that extra cache is currently not present on all cores so be carefull what you disable, windows 10 prioritise the right ones for games pretty good on it's own by default (a bit worse on 11)
flash drives, even on USB 3.0 typically have slow/crappy flash memory on them. you can use a USB->NVME dock and use your own choice of NVME drive for the best portable storage. external SSDs are much better than USB flash drives but usually have "lower end" ssds (ie. western digital blue) on the inside of them.
