@ChubbyChecker182

I play this song twice in a row before I start work. Every single Work Day. And been doing so for 6 years.

@halcyondaystunes

Don't think anyone truly appreciates how good a drummer Reni was and is. His timing is impeccable and all those ghost notes..and he sings at the same time too.. Mani and Reni are tight as fu*k with their timing too.
Shame we never got to see Reni's talents elsewhere.

@markbullivant3434

John Squire at his best, This band defined a generation

@mcbill7352

I'm kinda convinced this is the best song of all time

Squire's and Mani's parts mesh together so well that there is no need for a rhythm guitarist
And holy shit Reni goes nuts at the 3rd section of the song

@josyposy1626

Reni's amazing. All that fantastic drumming throughout the entire gig - must've be exhausting, he gives it his all, he doesn't let up, or lose rhythm AND still manages to sing his beautiful backing vocals so well without even sounding out of breath! Brilliant bloke!

@placidcasual9872

Squire was 27 years old when they did this gig. There are many great bands... but very few capture a moment so perfectly... perhaps the beatles, in the early 60's, stones in the early 70's, the pistols in the mid 70s and, the specials in the late 70's?....The Roses did it - they were perfect at that time. What are the chances - you have 3 once in a generation musicians and a frontman capable of leading a generation

@Will9719K

People need to understand that an Ian Brown performance was never about how talented he was, he is a frontman, it's his fucking attitude that counts, he didn't give a fuck he couldn't sing. This his best performance simply because he was on the same level as an entire city at that point, his goal was to get as fucked as possible and spread peace and love. WHAT A FUCKING LEGEND

@IIJOSEPHXII

I was there! And my clothes were still wringing wet when I got back to Manchester. Not only that, the next weekend was my first night in the Hacienda and Ian Brown was there too, in his collar-of-fivers t-shirt. We made eye contact and his stare penetrated my very soul. Life-changing times indeed.

@farouk414

One of the best songs ever.
They defined an era.
One of the best British bands ever as well.

@sneezing20jolly85

My dad is the tall guy in the back in the white shirt at 4:06 and 4:11… he was only 17 in this video ahaha. He is so chuffed that he is in this music video and loves to tell us about the experience. He has made me love this band so much x

@SurebrecUK

They used to play this at the end of Friday and Saturday night in clubs where I used to live, as a way to let the punters know that it was time to drink up and be ready to leave.

As soon as it started, the lights would come on and the glass collectors would come out.

Great memories.

@fostej99

Favourite Stone Roses song

@Parraga1970

The name of the band says everything, A-Z, the alpha to omega, the best lyrics, the best music, the définition of greatest, the résurrection. Your art will be listened for generations to come. Thank you all for your legacy.

@jonathanwright6648

Love how this starts chilled and understated and then builds into epic finale. What a band.

@warriorb6733

Possibly the greatest work of art ever created.

@matthewotooleis

I was absolutely obsessed with this when I was about 14, I would play this song on video before school and as soon as i got in every night. Still amazing.

@stephenjones5571

Reni, using only a snare, a floor tom, a kick drum, a hi-hat and a splash cymbal, carries this song the whole way with metronomic timing, he was and is a colossus on the drums. And he was also the best singer in the Roses but that's a whole other story.

@markwatkins6754

Real music this. A song that has almost a 5 minute interlude and is still a huge hit shows that class of a band. I want another band like this😭

@philipbirchall3562

I’m in this Video, on the balcony at 04:10 💙

@666Eva

A fantastically bitter song. Ian is a truly iconic and 4REAL frontman. Also, Mani = BASS MONSTER.
