My mistake with Reddit was thinking it was filled with normal people looking for actual conversation. I was banned from the Literature subreddit for daring to say that I could enjoy an author’s work without agreeing with everything they say. It only took a few minutes to catch the hammer. I said to myself “oh… it’s this kind of community.” And I never touched it again.
No matter what religion or belief I think we can all agree that redditors pretending they're high IQ individuals and belittling other religions is absolutely insufferable
I once responded to someone’s comment on Reddit with “my brother in christ” and the bastard had a mental breakdown
R/Atheism holds a special place in my heart for being the first subreddit I got banned from
Back in the day I was an edgy atheist who frequented that subreddit. Then I commented on a post full of people laughing about pastor Rick Warren’s son committing suicide. I got banned for saying that was a shitty thing to laugh at.
I once saw a guy saying religionists don't deserve modern medicine for "not even beliving in science and promoting harm" I called the bullshit out and got ratioed hard
The most ironic thing about Reddit atheists is that they end up coming off the same way that they think religious people act.
I find it funny that so many of the post on R/Atheism are stuff like “My grandma asked for us to pray for the people dying in Ukraine, God I hate my family” or “I didn’t say grace at the table and instead called them all stupid, now they act like I’m the bad guy” like it’s honestly unreal.
I'm an atheist. When people say they are praying for you try to remember that they do so because they care about you and you matter to them.
As an atheist, I had joined the subreddit when I first started going on reddit but I quickly left after discovering how much of a dumpsterfire it was. Not believing in God doesn't meant you can be a piece of shit to people who do ffs
As there are self-righteous religious people who state they are "holier than thou", we must not forget the self-righteous Reddit atheists who think they are "more rational than thou"
The interesting thing about Reddit Atheism is despite they're not worshipping God, they're still building a temple dedicated to "Humanity" or "intelligence" which is a fun way of saying "themselves"
r/atheism users when people say bless you instead of science you
Guys, stop making fun of redditors for not bathing, it's not out of laziness, they just don't want to catch an accidental baptism.
Whenever I see a smug internet atheist responding to someone saying they’re praying for someone with something about how praying doesn’t do anything, I usually reply to them asking what exactly they’re doing to help, because bitching on the internet at people being empathetic to other people’s suffering definitely doesn’t help.
Reddit atheists have brought more people back to religion than missionaries.
r/atheism users when they realize they have a god complex, and not a science complex:
Atheists when they see a praying mantis instead of a scientific hypothesis mantis
