@iciaruribarri3791

We need more conversations about this subject, it is soo important, thank you 🤍

@hcplsmf

I am so glad you are talking about this, I am currenlty weaning myself off social media and caffeine. It has been working well for my energy and mental health :)

@sarahbickel5166

I left instagram just one week ago and it was such a relief. I struggled really badly with anxiety and, while I should learn to see people being perfect on social media and not letting it affect me, it is really good not having to see it

@dereakcolumbus3603

How did I miss this one? This topic is AMAZINGLY relevant.

@sarah.the.clumsy

I love the respect here. I can see that yall don't really see eye to eye here, But you can still have a professional and productive conversation. That is fantastic.

@Nojintt

Jonathan sounds like he knows what he's talking about. Mike... You're definitely talking about what you hope, rather than reality.

@abigailwilson3639

This is so important to talk about! This is one thing that I really try to limit. For example, I use Facebook, but not instagram, Snapchat, or tiktok. Mostly because I don’t want the pressure of “keeping up” with my accounts (like posting “enough” pictures that show a “perfect” life), I also know I might become addicted and spend too much time on anything else. Even Facebook and YouTube I limit my time on

@robotfantome7404

the internet is filled with opinions, i’m not a doctor but staying in school is the best advice i can give you

@nitishagiri.6640

I never knew people took Instagram that seriously. It doesn't matter how much followers you have or how many likes you got. Not everything is real. People seeming happy on social media might not necessarily be that happy in real life.
Just because someone gets an ill comment on their picture that persons value does not decrease. It would be really fun to use Instagram without competing with each other or doubting yourself just because some random stranger said something .

@camillaampy6937

Dr. Mike I'm addicted to your channel. I think I need to take a break but you talk about good stuff. Social media can be rough.

@reneelindenmann6561

When Instagram first started out, I was so obsessed with getting likes that I made like 6 backup Instagram accounts that I would use to like all the photos on my main account. I did all of this just for a number…

@TusRosales

Wow I love this. thanks for sharing and bringing so much awareness to this! So important for mental health.

@RoroRopo2

thank you for pointing out this very important matter!

@marziadelevo

After making a tiktok that went somewhat viral I realized, that I need to step back and focus on my studies first. I wasn't able to focus on anything else but the numbers. Scary. I'm 31 btw.

@sarah.m7464

More conversation like this!!!❤

@rorylorelai1594

man I would like to be part of this conversation. I deleted Facebook years ago after several years of not using it. But I'm 30 and everyone around me has some kind of social media. I feel left out because I chose to not use any of them. I feel like a lot of people really meet there. Not because it's a safe place to be but because everyone else is there. And it's interesting for me to hear this conversation where they discuss how social media causes depression in the younger generation. In the meanwhile I have serious troubles meeting new people or even keep in touch with the people I know as a lot of "keeping in touch" is done non-verbaly (I like your picture..you like mine..follow me on IG etc). And the pandemic doesn't make it less problematic as meeting people online seems the only way of not going insane.

@dereakcolumbus3603

I watched this three times back to back. Maybe I just love the psychological aspects.

@shirlyjohn9180

Vow superb intellectual discussion

@kerendn

I think you're being too optimistic, Dr Mike. At first it was easy (like getting the first dose free). Now it's much harder to get a "hit". It's classic addiction. People get less and less out of it but they can't stop. The only thing that will change this, I think, is legislation backed by scientific research against the addictive parts of social media.

@shirlyjohn9180

True and agree with many points yes narcissistic traits are formed in one’s oersonality
