@Senpapii_

GameStop used to bring these outside for the midnight release of cod and let us 1v1 until midnight and they handed out red bulls I miss those days

@startedtech

As a kid I wondered how the consoles didnt just overheat in the clear plastic box lol, that explains it.

@trentdavis404

I haven't seen one of those in forever i remember seeing it at Walmart playing lego star wars 3

@Everything-Wii

That makes sense. Cords coming out of a display console wouldn't look great.

@CFN2011

i remember being stuck at one of these while we were shopping, i just kept playing until my family was done shopping

@nickloven6728

Anyone remember when Microsoft had "xbox one" kiosk at the launch event and it was secretly just a windows PC underneath. One of them even got a windows blue screen during the event.

@COOLAIDPRO

As a jschlat fan i immediately thought “its free”

@rollsroycer123rbx9

That makes sense. I remember being like ”That console’s just gonna completely overheat”

@rasher616

Them days are gone not even a game shop in Ireland anymore 😢

@crashingblow3753

Come to think of it, that sounds like a neat security measure. On paper at least. Whenever I saw display cases with consoles and games inside, I always thought that it was possible to break the case and steal it. Of course, I never tried it, and I never seen or heard of anyone trying. I just assumed it was possible, at least hypothetically. This PS3 in this case, is hidden and locked under a dummy unit and is already locked and sealed into the kiosk. Now imagine trying to steal it. You break the glass/plastic first, then you try to pull the thing out, but then you realize it's fake and the real deal was untouched and well hidden. Even if the thief might have known about the compartment, they still have to get it open, so it's not as easy as it might seem at first.

@ducktape4502

When gamestop was closing most of its stores my dad was dispatched in a team to disassemble the computer equipment. The ps3 stand was apart of that and they let him keep it. Those systems were basically on 24/7 not being cleaned so it was full of dust and died like a month later because it got so hot that it unballed the gpu from the pcb

@reggieRR1

That’s pretty cool I things they need to bring back the classic test before you buy idea

@ErnieGamezOfficial
