A suicide bombing in North Waziristan killed 16 Pakistani soldiers and injured over 24 people, including civilians. The attacker rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a military convoy. The Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility. Islamabad accuses Kabul of harboring militants amid rising border attacks since the Taliban's 2021 return. Over 290 security personnel have been killed in 2025 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
