The Tomb Raider reboot trilogy is one the most divisive, yet surprisingly successful series of games ever. Each entry seemed to come alongside new controversies and heavy criticisms from long time fans. Despite this, the trilogy sold over 30 million copies combined. Of the millions of gamers who gave this series a try, it seems many of them came away with wildly different experiences and opinions. So in today’s video I’ll be playing through all three games, and we’ll be taking a look back at their development, release, and aftermath to figure out what exactly made these games so contentious.
