It's 1989 and communism finally dies in Europe. Nations and peoples that had spent the previous 40 years chained under Soviet sphere of influence, emerge to chart their own course in Europe. In this video we examine how the first post-communist government embarked on building close relations and alliances with the United States, Czech Republic, and Lithuania, while also overcoming difficulties in it's relations with Germany and Russia.
