Bill Bavasi is a baseball lifer. He grew up around the Dodgers of the 60s, along with his brothers, Bob, Peter, and Chris, while his dad Buzzie was leading the team to four world championships.

Bill earned his stripes working in Player Development for the Angels, eventually working his way up to General Manager, a post he held from 1994-1999. After the Angels, he was the Farm Director of the Dodgers. In 2003, the Seattle Mariners hired him to be their GM, and he remained there until 2008. Afterwards, he caught on with the Cincinnati Reds, working as Vice President of Scouting, Player Development and International Operations.

In 2014, Bavasi joined Major League Baseball's Office of the Commissioner as Director of the Major League Scouting Bureau. Today, he is still with MLB as the Senior Director of Baseball Development, where his duties include overseeing the Arizona Fall League.

I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to endure a few years working with Bill in both New York and Arizona, and he was the one who first introduced me to his brother Bob, ultimately leading me to where I am today at JapanBall!
